We’ve been extremely busy over these last couple of months at three day events. DHI Paparazzi and OBOS Colombus headed for Blenheim International CCI*** together and put in pleasing performances. Had time penalties not been so costly with both horses we would have been right up in the placings. I’m very excited for the future now with both of these campaigners.

It was then off to Osberton International with Jane Duncan’s Monbeg Maximus and Treworder in the CCI*, and Sir John Peace and Charlotte Cole’s The Corn Crake in the CCI**. All were right up there after the dressage phase, with Treworder leading throughout the dressage. Clear XC’s for the 1*’s inside the time left it all to play for on the final day. The Corn Crake picked up a few time XC after needing to take an unplanned long route, but jumped a super clear round.

Unfortunately the scoring was so close on the final day that only two poles at the start of the showjumping separated 1st - 75th place. Luck was not on our side on the Sunday and a fence down dropped us right out of the money. I was delighted with the performances of all of the horses though, who will now all have a well deserved holiday.
